A website for your practice or business
A clear site with what you offer, your opening hours and an easy way to get in touch or book an appointment. Written for your customers and built to work well on any phone.
WardWare is Ward Scherens, a fullstack software engineer from Flemish Brabant, Belgium. I make sites for freelancers and small businesses that load fast, are easy to find and run in the EU, so you never have to think about hosting.

Your site runs on my own server in the EU, with an SSL certificate, backups and updates. If you already own a domain name, we move it over.
A web application, a link between systems or an internal tool. Day to day I build backends with Java, Spring Boot and Kafka, and frontends in Angular and TypeScript.
A few projects I design, build and keep running myself.
WebsiteLive
An example site for a physiotherapy practice: treatments, the team, practical info and a clear button to book an appointment. The starting point for the sites I build for healthcare practices.
Web applicationLive
Reads bank statements and sorts every expense and income into a category, so you can see where your money goes each month.
Web applicationOwn project
Collects property listings from several Belgian real estate sites for each postcode in Flemish Brabant and shows them in one searchable place.
GameIn development
A 2D roguelike in Unity where monsters attack you without pause. Movement, physics, procedurally generated levels, UI and animation: all built by me.
We call or meet. You tell me what you need, I ask questions.
You get a proposal with price and timeline, so you know where you stand.
Along the way a test version is online for you to give feedback on.
I put everything live on your domain and keep hosting and updating it.
I'm Ward. Since 2022 I've worked as a consultant fullstack software engineer at Cegeka, helping build the systems behind VDAB's training offer: Spring Boot microservices, Kafka events and Angular frontends.
Before that I studied Applied Computer Science at UCLL, and before that, electrical engineering. From pulling cables to building systems. With WardWare I bring that experience to freelancers and small businesses.
Email me a short note about what you need and we'll set up a call.
